VIDEO: Summer is season to explore stunning new horizons

OPINION: Is there anything quite as fantastic as the sights and sounds of an Australian summer?

Leather on willow, the splash in the pool and the fizz of a coke.

Every year as the weather heats up everybody seems to crawl from their homes and realise there is life away from an electronic device.

Fishing lines are thrown, four-wheel-drives start churning and the smell of sunscreen fills the air.

And I, along with most people I think, have a memory of that one awesome summer.

Whether it be the first time you visited at a new beachside place, that girl you met or the summer of cricket.

There is just something about summer that gets people up and active.

I've made a pledge to myself after a recent visit to a camping and boating store to make the most of it.

This summer I'm going to enjoy that beer, swim at that beach and explore somewhere I haven't been before. I've got four weeks off from December 12 so I need your help to find the best spots on the Queensland coastline.

I have a four-wheel drive, a boat and a kayak so nowhere is off-limits.
