Season ready to kick off in style

WITH a warm summer break having yielded a perfect crop of grass on the pitch, the Gatton Football Club’s Redback Park venue is ready to greet season 2010 in style with a great weekend planned.
The festivities begin this Friday night with the senior sign-on, starting at 6.30pm.
Like the club itself, the theme is strongly social, with a barbecue at the clubhouse and players invited to linger on, enjoy a drink and a burger with new (and old) team mates.
As the natural light fades the flood lights on the number one field will burn brightly, for those keen on a kick or two.
This Saturday it’s back to the business of football, as Brisbane league rivals Brisbane Force and Toowoomba Raiders square off for three matches on the neutral turf of Gatton.
The Youth game will kick off at 12pm and the Premier Reserves at 2pm, with the big guns from Division 1 blasting off at 4pm.
Friday night’s senior sign-on is for Colts, Men’s and Women’s players, with fees $245 for players 18, and players 18 or under paying $195 per season.
A $100 deposit is required at sign-on, and all fees are inclusive of GST and a team photo.
The Gatton Football Club’s junior sign on for boys and girls U6 to U15 takes place from 9am-1pm on February 6 and 13, with family discounts also available.
All welcome. Enquiries may be directed to Secretary Jeff Logan on 0438601421.
