Sea World staffer 'attacked by sea lion'

A SEA World staff member has been attacked by one of the theme park's animals.

The 28-year-old staffer's arm was gashed bout 9am and was taken to the Pindara Private Hospital.

There have been media reports that the man had been attacked by a sea lion at the theme park on Queensland's Gold Coast.

A Sea World spokesman said an investigation was under way but at this stage it was unclear how the man was injured or what type of animal was involved.
