Scott eyeing $10m bonus at Tour Championship
GOLF: Adam Scott will consider his 2016 campaign a success if he wins the season-ending Tour Championship.
Scott, who will play alongside world No.1 Jason Day for the first two rounds at East Lakes, will also win the $10 million bonus and the FedEx Cup if he gets a victory in Atlanta.
If he does that he will add to his back-to-back victories at the Honda Classic and WGC-Cadillac Championship, and he will be satisfied with his year.
"Although I'm disappointed with my play in the majors, I will have played a lot of good golf this year and that's the way the game goes,” he said.
"I'm trying to get the most out of every opportunity and that would certainly feel like I've had a very good year, if I were to win the Tour Championship.”
Scott and Day are two of five players out of the 30 remaining who can win the FedEx Cup with victory in Atlanta this weekend.
Day goes into the tournament ranked fourth, with Scott third behind leader Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed, while England's Paul Casey is fifth.
The Aussies also have a chance of lifting the cup by finishing second.
Day is also vying with Johnson for the coveted Tour Player of the Year award after his three-win season.
Scott has won on the course before, taking out the Tour Championship in 2006, the year before the FedEx Cup playoffs began.
