Sam and Snezana's Bachelor love story tops ratings
LAST night's Bachelor grand final has set a new Twitter TV ratings record.
The dating show's penultimate episode, which saw Sam Wood declare his love for single Perth mum Snezana Markoski, is the most talked about non-sport program since Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings began in October last year.
It was also the most-watched program of the night, attracting a peak national audience of 2.08 million viewers for Wood's final decision.
The series has continued to grow as a social media phenomenon, with a large number of viewers engaging in live commentary on a second screen.
"What I love about the conversation that happens online is that even if you watch it alone it feels like you're watching it in a room with 20 people," host Osher Gunsberg told APN.
"I love that it's the show that really embraces how our society now interacts when they watch tellie."
Even NSW Premier Mike Baird live tweeted last night's final, drawing humorous comparisons between the show and politics.
My running times are slowing down but they are lightening compared to this process! Just decide mate. #TheBachelorAU
