Has Salim Mehajer's wife filed for an order against him?

THE flamboyant wedding of Salim Mehajer to Aysha Learmonth captured the attention of the nation, but now the marriage  appears to be falling apart.

Fairfax Media reports police officers made an application for an apprehended violence order against a 30-year-old man on Monday.

Aysha Mehajer's maiden name was used in the application.

The case is due to be heard on Wednesday.

Mr Mehajer has since denied the claims, telling Sydney Morning Herald "police are pursuing for an AVO" not his wife.

He also said the pair are still together.

SMH reports that there had been "speculation" about the pair's relationship for months, which have been persistently denied by Mr Mehajer.

Meanwhile, Mr Mehajer is also facing an application for another apprehended violence order from a personal trainer at the property developer's gym.

The pair were married in August last year in a ceremony that frustrated residents as the pair shut down suburban streets.

The attention also prompted a state corruption inquiry into the Auburn council in June, which continues.

In February, Mr Mehajer was suspended from his post as Auburn's deputy mayor for four months by the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
