Sale offers all kinds of books

WHAT do you do when faced with an shed overflowing with books and other bric-a-brac donations?

A garage sale is always a good idea and that is what President of the Fernvale Lions Geoff Beattie proclaimed at a recent Lions meeting.

Following on from last year’s very successful Bookfest the Lions club of Fernvale have decided to hold another Monster Book and Bric-a-Brac sale this Saturday, March 20.

The grounds of the Fernvale Uniting Church and Church hall will be chock a block with bargains.

“There is something here for everyone with treasure, trinkets , toys, crockery, china and clothes all going for a song,” Geoff said.

He explained that he simply needed the room in his shed which had been overflowing with items kindly donated from the community.

“All the items have to be sold.”

The Fernvale Lions Club received a very generous donation of ex-library books last year.

“We sold some of these last year at our Bookfest, but we still have plenty more to sell on Saturday.

“It will be the first time a lot of these will be up for sale as there were simply too many to take down last time.”

The Monster Book & Bric-a-Brac sale takes place this Saturday at the Fernvale Uniting Church on the corner of Clive St and the Brisbane Valley Highway from 7.30am.
