Russian G20 staffer detained during hunt for booze

A MAN travelling with the Russian delegation in Brisbane for the G20 summit had a hairy run-in with security earlier this week.

The man wandered from the Hilton Hotel on Elizabeth Street to Parliament House on Tuesday afternoon.

It is understood he walked over the Goodwill Bridge and back again, before taking a wrong turn and ending up in the grounds of Parliament House on Alice Street.

"He's taken the wrong path and ended up at the back of Parliament House," an official told Fairfax Media.

The man told security guards he was looking for a bottle shop. He was detained by security before police were called.
