Waratahs score top spot thanks to Bernard Foley

A DOMINANT performance from five-eighth Bernard Foley has seen the Waratahs secure top spot and a home final in stunning fashion, thrashing the Highlanders 44-16 at Allianz Stadium yesterday.

Foley was at the forefront of most attacking raids as the Tahs took some brilliant form into the business end of the year - winning their sixth-successive game with just one regular-season fixture remaining.

Sekope Kepu, Jacques Potgieter, Nick Phipps, Rob Horne and Israel Folau all scored tries for New South Wales, with Kepu in menacing form up front.

Meanwhile, the Western Force and Chiefs kept their finals hopes alive after victories over the weekend. The Force (7th) can sneak into the top six with a win against the Brumbies (6th), while the Chiefs need to beat the Blues on Friday night to earn a finals berth at the expense of the Hurricanes who have a bye.
