Man robs the dead but has since 'seen the light'

A MAN who callously raided a dead man's home was jailed for 12 months.

Cody Farrell was caught when the ute he'd loaded up with stolen property failed to start.

He pleaded guilty in the Mackay Magistrates Court to burglary and stealing on Sugar Shed Rd on July 11.

The court was told he was acting under duress for fear of reprisal from an accomplice, but had "seen the light" since committing the offence and was getting his life back on track.

Farrell will be eligible for parole on November 22.
