Robbers threaten man with machete, bat as kids sleep nearby

A MAN with two young children has been terrorised in his caravan by armed robbers north of Kyogle.

Police said the 43-year-old man, along with two children, aged 7 and 10, were asleep in the caravan on Gradys Creek Road at Loadstone, about 30km north of Kyogle, about 4am yesterday when two men armed with a machete and baseball bat barged in.

The bandits demanded cash from the man before stealing a computer tablet, a games console, a chainsaw, mobile phones and money.

The men ran on foot towards Summerland Way. A car was heard leaving the area.

No-one was injured in the home invasion.

Police are appealing for information about the incident.

The first man was described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s, 185cm tall with a medium build. At the time of the robbery he had his face covered and was wearing dark clothing.

The second man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, 175-180cm tall with a stocky build. He also had his face covered at the time and was wearing dark clothing.
