A-LEAGUE Champions Brisbane Roar has signed Bahraini international defender Sayed Mohamed Adnan to a one-year deal.
A veteran at the back for his country, the 28-year-old has been capped 79 times by Bahrain, notching an impressive tally of 13 goals.
His goal-scoring feats at club level is even more impressive, finding the back of the net 37 times in 104 matches for Qatari club Al-Khor.
After training with the squad for nearly a month, Adnan said he was looking forward to taking the field and helping the Roar become the first club to successfully defend its A-League crown.
“I want to continue the same job that the team did last year,” Adnan said.
“They want to be Champions and I am also looking forward to that.
“My job is to make our goal safe and we will try get good results this season, better than last season."
Roar coach Ange Postecoglou said he was confident Adnan - the 2009 Asian Player of the Year runner-up - would fit comfortably into his side’s style of play.
“Mohamed is very composed on the ball and has shown some quality passing in his time with us,” Postecoglou said.
“Defensively he is sound and in an attacking sense he will also give us another dimension.
“He also has plenty of experience playing in Asia which will be important for our AFC Champions League campaign next year.”
