Rickuss denies row

IAN Rickuss, State MP for Lockyer, says there was no row when he visited a Gatton medical surgery this week, despite claims on social media.

Mr Rickuss said he visited Gatton Medical Centre with Federal Senator Matt Canavan, and spoke with staff.

Describing it as a 'private conversation', Mr Rickuss said he expressed his disappointment that that he was being blamed for reductions in the Medicare rebate to GPs, when this was a Federal matter.

In an online response to a post to the Gatton Star's Facebook page, Mr Rickuss said he had been speaking to the doctors about the confusion between State and Federal matters.

"I have been talking to the doctors and the doctors surgeries to ease the confusion about what is a federal government responsibility and what is a state matter," Mr Rickuss said.
