Ricciardo back on podium as Hamilton claims win
MOTORSPORT: Daniel Ricciardo has clinched his first podium finish of the 2017 Formula One season, finishing third in the Spanish Grand Prix.
The Aussie finished behind winner Brit Lewis Hamilton, who edged Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel in a thrilling finish to cut the German's driver's championship lead to six points.
Ricciardo was the only driver not lapped by the top-two finishers in a race after moving into third after Valtteri Bottas' engine malfunctioned.
For Hamilton it was his 55th career win - and one of most hard-fought, with Ferrari's Vettel grabbing the lead from the Mercedes star at the start. The two were neck and neck for the duration.
Hamilton took the chequered flag 3.4 seconds clear of Vettel.
"That's how racing should be and I loved it," said a happy Hamilton.
