Jacqui Lambie to decide on PUP by next week

RENEGADE Palmer United Party Senator Jacqui Lambie is expected to make a decision about whether to leave the party next week.

Sen Lambie confirmed on Thursday she would return to Tasmania and seek legal and parliamentary advice on her future with the PUP party.

The senator told reporters in Canberra she would make sure she had gleaned advice in "every area" before she decided if she would continue with the party.

Her comments follow a disruptive week for Clive Palmer's party, after Sen Lambie rejected the party's position on financial advice laws to help other non-government senators vote down planned government changes.

The vote in the Senate on Wednesday came after Mr Palmer suspended Sen Lambie from party room meetings and expelled her from senior parliament roles with the PUP.

Sen Lambie had not spoken to her party colleagues for several weeks.
