$100,000 from $2 scratchie "the best start to the day ever"

A REDBANK man claimed a $100,000 win after purchasing a $2 scratchie from an Ipswich newsagent.

The man is now in the market for a new family home after deciding to buy the scratchie on a whim, using the loose change in his pocket at the Collingwood Park Newsagency in Redbank Plaza.

"I bought a few Instant Scratch-Its late in the afternoon. When I got home I put them on the kitchen table and that's where they sat all night," he said.

"I finally scratched the tickets the next morning. I won $2 on the first Instant Scratch-Its ticket and thought that was great.

"Then I scratched the second ticket and I was stunned when I saw I'd won the $100,000 top prize!

"It was the best start to the day ever."
