Gatton Redbacks gear up for 2014 soccer season

GATTON Redbacks are looking forward to a successful 2014 as the soccer year comes to a close.

Re-elected club president Samantha Richardson said the 2014 season would be starting earlier than usual.

"Normally we start after Easter but next year we will be kicking off a couple of weeks earlier," Ms Richardson said.

"Sign-on for the juniors will be on March 22 and seniors on March 23 and we'll play for two weeks before Easter before resuming again after Easter break."

Ms Richardson said juniors were accepted from the age of five onwards.

"We go through the grades mixed to under-16s, then Colts and Fillies for older teenagers and Premier and Reserve ladies and men's teams," Ms Richardson said.

The club is also running a summer competition on Thursday nights which finishes tomorrow night before resuming in the new year.

"You can keep up to date with what we are doing through Facebook or on our website," Ms Richardson said. The club recently elected its new executive and committee for 2014.
