READER: Young staff shouldn’t have to put up with abuse

WEDNESDAY evening (4/11) whilst in a Woolworths supermarket I was rather disturbed to see a much older staff member publicly berate a junior staff member, in full view of the public, and at one point raising his hand and telling the young man to shut up.

In this day and age young people should not have to put up with this bullying/aggressive behaviour in the workplace.

We often denigrate the younger generation for their lack of work ethic, presentation and attitude but everything that occurred during this incident sorely told a different story.

I expect better behaviour from my peers when dealing with our young men and women in the workplace. Very disappointing.
