Winx gets up on the inside to win.

WINX had never won a barrier trial in her entire career until today at Randwick.

The champion mare is ready to pick up where she left off this spring after beating a high quality field in the opening heat over 1000m this morning.

Despite her 17-start winning streak in races, Winx had never won a barrier trial but she showed yesterday that she might have even improved this spring.

Winx settled down fifth on the inside before cruising home to score by about half-a-length.

Winx will return in the Warwick Stakes at Randwick on Saturday week before contesting the Chelmsford Stakes, George Main Stakes and then either the Craven Plate in Sydney or Caulfield Stakes in Melbourne before chasing a third consecutive Cox Plate.

Winx could then line up in the Emirates Stakes during the Melbourne Cup Carnival, which would be her first start at Flemington.
