Raising funds on race day

MELLISSA Meldrum from the Lockyer Race Club and Lisa Bentley from Lisa's Hair with Flair are teaming up in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Lisa and her team have been raising funds for Breast Cancer Research for over two years.

In her salon in Railway Street Gatton, Lisa and the girls have been holding raffles, selling merchandise and doing promotions to help raise funds.

“The local community have been very generous and supportive of our efforts and so far this year we have raised over $1200.”

The girls have raised over $7000 in the previous two years and are hoping to top that this year with the Breast Cancer Race Day at the Lockyer Race Club on Saturday, November 14.

“We have always been interested in what we as a Club can do for our Community. This is just another opportunity to show our support for another worthwhile cause,” Mellissa said.

Lisa's team have already sold 200 tickets to the marquee where guests will enjoy a two course buffet luncheon.

All patrons will be able to purchase tickets in the Multi draw Raffle and participate in Fashions on the Field for Best Dressed Male and Female and Best Hat.

Everyone will also be able to take part in other activities throughout the afternoon.

All of the prizes have been kindly donated by generous businesses in our community.

Sponsorship packages are still available for those wishing to show their support.

Tickets are also available for the Members Bar where guests will enjoy hot and cold fingers foods served throughout the afternoon.

Tickets are $20 per person and include gate entry.

Please phone Mellissa on 5462 2850.

Miss Breast Cancer and Miss Charity will be announced on the day.

If you have made a booking for the marquee, organisers urge you to pay for your ticket prior to October 31 at Lisa's Salon.

Tickets not paid for by this date will be offered to those on our waiting list.
