Rail Trail puts best to the test

EVERY year, athletes from across the region and beyond are enticed to the Rail Trail between Lowood and Fernvale to take to the track and compete in the Honeywood Rail Trail Fun Run.

Held on Sunday, July 10, more than 900 runners of all ages and experiences put in the blood, sweat and tears necessary to cross the finish line.

One of the organisers, Scott Aurisch, said they are aiming to have more than 1000 competitors in the event next year for its 10th anniversary.

The overall winner in the open male category was Glen Yarham and female winner in the open category was Clare Geraghty.
