Queensland priest 'spat at' by Yes campaigner, calls for healing

A BRISBANE priest says he was "spat at" in broad daylight yesterday for voting no in the same sex marriage postal ­survey.

Father Morgan Batt, who works at the Brisbane Archdiocese, said the incident occurred as he was walking up the Queen St Mall in the city's CBD yesterday.

"I was stopped, spat at, and called a 'f---ing no voter'," he wrote on Facebook late on Wednesday night.

Fr Batt said he was wearing his "priestly attire" at the time.
