Proud country lass wins Laidley Showgirl crown
SHE'S traded her boots, jeans and hat for heels and a dress, but it's all for a good cause.
Montana Litfin is Laidley's newest Miss Showgirl, following in her sister's footsteps to promote one of the region's biggest events of the year.
The 18-year-old said she aimed to show other girls they didn't have to come from the city to become a Showgirl, as the key to success was a passion for the district and show.
"I know the Laidley area is small but I want to show people outside the area it can be a great place," Montana said.
Montana was awarded the title at the Laidley Show Ball, where her sister Amy handed over the crown.
"I saw Amy's journey through the Showgirl title and wanted to have a go myself," Montana said.
"I wanted to meet new people and get to know people in the community."
While Montana was one of the youngest Miss Showgirl entrants, she said her age wasn't an issue for contending the West Moreton and Brisbane Valley Sub-chamber Miss Showgirl title.
"People that have just turned 18 can still enter the competition," she said.
"I want to show I'm proud to be part of the community, and my country background."
When Montana's not dressing up, she's out with her horse Trinket.
