AMATEUR renovators Polly Porter and Warwick 'Waz' Jones have won The Block 2011.

The Sydney siders were the only couple to surpass their reserve price at auction, winning the renovation competition by default.

They will go home with a cool $115,000 - the $100,000 grand prize plus the $15,000 profit on their house - for their efforts.

But Josh’s proposal to Jenna nearly overshadowed the young couple’s win.

Josh pulled a Tiffany ring out of his jacket pocket just before he and Jenna’s double-fronted house went to auction.

Host Scott Cam had to remind an emotional Jenna to officially say ‘yes’.

The fiery young couple’s engagement bliss was tempered by not getting anywhere near their reserve price of $950,000.

Experienced renovators Rod and Tania and sisters Katrina and Amie were also clearly disappointed by having to hand in their properties.

“It’s a waste of time really isn’t it,” said Amie.

Rod and Tania won the people’s choice award, taking home the Toyota Corolla they had been driving during the series.
