Woman had been trapped in culvert for 15 hours after crash

THE AGL Action Rescue Helicopter has airlifted a woman who laid trapped for up to 15 hours in a roadside culvert after losing control of her trail bike.

The 31-year-old had been riding her bike in bushland near 1770 yesterday afternoon when she failed to return to home last night. Her family alerted authorities who declared the woman missing.

The AGL Action Rescue Helicopter was tasked to undertake an aerial search of the 1770 area last night, scouring bushland for several hours.

The search resumed this morning, with rescuers on the ground also assisting.

She was found just after 7am by a local on foot next to a road close to her home.

She was suffering hypothermia, a head injury and a possible spinal injury.

A road ambulance transported the woman from the scene to the 1770 showgrounds where she was met by the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter.

The woman told Action Rescue crew that she could see the helicopter circling above on Sunday night.

She was flown to Bundaberg Hospital for further observation in a stable condition.

Earlier: A woman who was reported missing in the Agnes Water area on Sunday has been found with serious injuries.

Police located the woman in a table drain, where she had crashed her motorbike but was unable to seek help because of her injuries.

The woman, in her 30s, was transported to Bundaberg Hospital.

Earlier: Police have been co-ordinating a search for a woman believed to be missing in the Agnes Water area.

A land and aerial search started at about 7pm last night after reports a woman in her 30s had failed to return from a planned trail bike ride.

The woman was last seen around 4.30pm yesterday in the vicinity of Streeter Dr.

The search resumed at first light today.
