Woman critically injured after fall from car has died
UPDATE: A 44-year-old woman critically injured during a traffic incident at Middlemount on December 31 has died in hospital at Townsville.
The incident on December 31 occurred on the Fitzroy Development Road just after midnight.
Detectives are continuing their appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who many have observed a black 2014 Nissan Nivara dual cab (pictured) in the vicinity of Fitzroy Development Road or the

UPDATE: DETECTIVES investigating a serious traffic incident in which a woman was critically injured at Middlemount on December 31 are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
Just after midnight, a 44-year-old woman, who was a passenger in a utility, fell from the vehicle while travelling along the Fitzroy Development Road.
She was transported to Dysart Hospital, before being airlifted to Townsville Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
Police are seeking to identify motorists that may have witnessed the incident or observed a black 2014 Nissan Nivara dual cab (pictured) in the vicinity of Fitzroy Development Road or the Middlemount area.

EARLIER: A 44-YEAR-OLD woman is in a critical condition after she fell out of the passenger seat of a moving vehicle at Middlemount.
The incident occurred on the Fitzroy Development Rd about 1.30am yesterday.
Police said the Brisbane woman was initially transported by Queensland Ambulance Service officers to Dysart Hospital to be treated after the incident, before she was then airlifted to Townsville Hospital.
She was still in a critical condition in Townsville late yesterday, a spokeswoman from the hospital confirmed.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing and police would not reveal how the woman fell out of the vehicle.
A 35-year-old man who was driving the vehicle was assisting police with their investigation.
Detective Sergeant Jay Notaro from Moranbah CIB, the investigating officer for the incident, said the speed limit on the Fitzroy Development Rd was 100kmh.
"No one has been charged and it's still being investigated," Det Sgt Notaro said.
He would not comment any further.
