POLICE are on the hunt for two women who were involved in an assault in which a taxi driver was attacked with a high-heeled shoe.
The women were driven from West End in Brisbane, back to a unit complex at Newtown St, East Ipswich, before the assault took place about 3am on February 23 this year.
Upon completion of the journey back to Ipswich, both passengers left the vehicle to get money to pay the driver, however police claim they failed to return.
The driver entered the unit block and was confronted by one of the two women, as well as a man.
Police said there was an argument in which the driver was struck in the arm with the woman's shoe.
The driver sustained a badly broken left arm, just above the wrist.
The injury required the surgical insertion of a metal plate to repair the damaged bone.
Police have released CCTV footage of the women in the taxi in the hope that someone will be able to identify them.
Anyone with information should contact Crimes Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
