Man killed and two injured in stabbings
A MAN has died after a stabbing in Melbourne in one of two stabbing incidents in the city overnight.
Emergency services rushed to Courtney Street in the city's north about 4.45am, where the man was found near the entrance to some flats.
The victim, who is yet to be formally identified, was treated by paramedics at the scene.
He was taken to hospital but died shortly after.
A spokesman for Victoria Police said investigators are yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding his death and the investigation is ongoing.
The terrifying attack comes after two men were savagely stabbed by a group of thugs during a terrifying armed robbery in Melbourne's south east - in a separate incident.
Police say the men were walking along Corigan Street in Noble Park about 1am when it is alleged they were approached by five or six men armed with knives.
The attackers demanded money, but when the pair refused the group launched a sickening attack before fleeing the scene with an amount of cash.
The two victims stumbled to Green Street where they were found by paramedics. Both were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation into both incidents is ongoing.
