VIDEO: Police hunt man after sexual assault on five-year-old

THREE days after releasing his image to the world, New South Wales police are still chasing to question a man following a brazen sexual assault of a five-year-old at a McDonalds restaurant.

Detectives released the video footage on Friday morning showing a man of "Indian sub-continental appearance" at the McDonalds on Park Beach Road on Saturday October 11.

The man is yet to make himself known to police.

Senior Constable Scott Nowland with the Child Abuse Squad Tamworth said while they did not expect the man in the photo and video to turn up of his own accord, they were confident the public will help with their search.

Snr Const Nowland said police were now making "other inquiries" and were optimistic they would find him.

It is unclear whether he is from the Coffs Harbour area.
