Police on 'megaphone' as they hunt wanted man in NQ

POLICE have started using a megaphone and are trying to make contact with someone in the area.

It's understood the incident has been going for over seven hours now.

EARLIER: MULTIPLE streets have been cordoned off in Currajong where police are believed to be hunting a wanted man.

It's understood the man may be in the vicinity of Goodwin, Bussey and McDougall streets with a number police units in the area.

The search for the man has been going on since 1.30am this morning.

Police confirmed there is no current threat to the public, no threats have been made to police and no evacuation order has been put in place.

There is a heavy police presence in the area, please avoid the streets if possible.
