Pohlman's celebrate 40 years of blooming business
WHEN most people visit Pohlman's Nursery, they see the office and the retail side to the Gatton business.
However at the weekend, VIP customers and the wider community got a first hand look into what happens at Pohlman's Nursery.
The weekend celebrated 40 years of business since John and Val Pohlman started the nursery in 1976.
With food stalls, children's activities and live music on display, chief operating officer Ross Cronin was pleased with how the weekend went.
"The whole long weekend, it was an enormous success,” Mr Cronin said.
Throughout the weekend, a train ride touring the 150 acre wholesale nursery proved to be a hit, with people lining up to take a seat on the green and red Pohlman's train.
The 35 minute journey took visitors through the production of Pohlmans, giving them an insight to the nursery industry which produces more than 30 million plants annually.
"The train was very popular, every time it arrived back it became full again, it just went continuously all day,” Mr Cronin said.
Each year Pohlman's nursery host two super special days, usually one in autumn and one in spring.
Mr Cronin said with the success of the celebration, he would consider doing more family days.
"We wouldn't be here without the support of the local community.”
