IS Ashlee Smith Gladstone's Kendall or Gigi?

At just 17, Ashlee has seen herself on the big screen and in national beauty magazines.

The Gladstone resident is an Elite Avenue Modelling client, and has been scouted by local and state photographers.

With more photo shoots and commercials in the pipeline, she shows no signs of slowing down.

In August she will travel to Brisbane to be one of the models promoting a new cosmetic label.

She also has plans for more Gladstone television commercials in coming months.

The hype of the modelling life has seen her go from the catwalk to advertising photography - and loving every bit of it.

She first experienced modelling in grade 8 when she went to an etiquette course.

"I was really shy and lacked confidence," she said.

"I went along to this modelling catwalk training class and learnt all about etiquette and fashion.

"We were walking around with books on our head," she said of the hardly glamorous training course.

From there she joined a catwalk company and continued her modelling dream.

"(Modelling is) really fun.

"I do like seeing the end result because it's crazy what we can create," she said.

"You can think that if you're taking photos over and over that they will start to look the same but that's not the case," she said.

Her Instagram and Facebook sites have thousands of followers, giving her exposure to more photographers and magazine sites.

"I think it is giving me a lot more exposure because not everyone has not every form of social media.

"I think it's important to be on a couple of different sites.

Between organising regular photo shoots and commercials, Ashlee also works at Lightbox Espresso and Wine Bar.

She's also studying for her bachelor of business degree.
