Pedestrian killed in traffic crash at Eight Mile Plains

A 25-YEAR-OLD man from Zillmere has died after he was hit by a car at Eight Mile Plains in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Queensland Police said the man was struck by a car at the intersection of Gaskell St and Underwood Rd.

He died at the scene.

Police said the driver of the car was not injured and the Forensic Crash Unit was investigating.

It is the second time in the past week that a pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle.

A man died on June 8 at Woombye after he was hit by a truck on Nambour Connection Rd about 2.30am.

He was also pronounced dead at the scene.
