Accused drink driver's school dance rampage

POLICE have nabbed a woman four times over the limit after her alleged drink driving rampage left a path of destruction and a man injured.

The 42-year-old woman from the Nambour area was trying to pick up a child after a school dance when she crashed into a parked car.

She allegedly drove dangerously as she left the scene.

Police have praised a man who tried to stop the woman from fleeing the scene.

He sustained minor injuries when he attempted to stop her from returning to her car and driving away.

Information provided by the man ultimately helped apprehend the driver nearby.

Police allege she returned a blood alcohol content reading of 0.203%.

She was charged with driving under the influence and has been bailed to appear Nambour Magistrates Court on June 19.

The child, who was known to the woman, was collected safely by another family member.
