Passengers escape uninjured from multi-vehicle accident

UPDATE: Passengers involved in a two vehicle crash have escaped uninjured today, police said.

The call was initially reported to police as a "serious accident" from onlookers.

But a Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said paramedics were turned down before arriving on scene.

The accident, on Gatton-Helidon road, at Helidon, was reported shortly before noon today.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said occupants in the crash received "very minor" injuries, and the site had been cleared.

The spokesperson said an elderly driver was involved in the accident.

EARLIER: Emergency services are responding to a traffic accident in the Lockyer Valley.

Early reports indicate a two vehicle head on crash at Helidon, on the Warrego Highway., east bound.

The initial alert to emergency services was reported at 11.45am.

It is unknown if any occupants are trapped in the vehicle.
