Parliament calls for a bucket during during Question Time

STORMS in Canberra's skies seemed to reach the floor of the House during Question Time on Wednesday.

Mid-way through debate in the lower house, Speaker Bronwyn Bishop interrupted proceedings to announce that "the roof is leaking".

"I realise leaking is a problem which is familiar to political parties, however, I think we may need a bucket," Mrs Bishop said.

She said the leaking roof, which came mid-afternoon as storms with hail hit the capital, was another sign of need for repairs on the home of political debate.
