Euthanasia move takes us back to Hitler's policies
LEGALISED euthanasia is little more than state-sanctioned murder in my opinion.
The moves in Victoria to legalise "mercy killing" is deeply distressing.
Remember that mercy killing was a euphemism made up by Adolf Hitler to disguise state-sponsored murder.
"Wartime is the best time for the elimination of the incurably ill," Hitler reportedly said in 1939 as he signed the order for the T4 Euthanasia Program.
It authorised doctors to kill anyone in Germany who was mentally ill, emotionally unstable or too old to be of any value to the military effort.
Many elderly and infirm were simply starved to death. Others were sent into eternity by lethal injection or gas.
There is no doubt that old-fashioned ideas about the sanctity of human life are being swept aside as assisted suicide gains support.
Old people will have to sleep with one eye open.
