One servo cuts price after three days of Fuel Watch

IN just three days, one Yeppoon service station has dropped its fuel price by almost 10 cents.

It's a big drop in a short amount of time, and it comes after the launch of the Capricornia Fuel Watch which encourages locals to shop around for the cheapest fuel in the region.

Member for Keppel Bruce Young has applauded the decrease, calling it an example of "people power in action".

"That's a pretty impressive price drop in just three days," he said.

"We've got to reward those service stations that drop those prices.

"If you see the cheapest fuel in town, make sure you go there … everyone has to take ownership of this," he said.

He also wanted to dispel the misconception that the state and federal governments control fuel prices.

"The only thing we can control is if there is a collusion going on, and I don't think there is," he said.

He urged people to continue calling The Bulletin and sending in photos of fuel prices around the region.
