One last ‘angel’ to track down after Gav's motorcycle crash
GAVIN Williamson is appealing to the public to help him track down his final "angel".
Five strangers helped save Gavin's life when he lost a leg and a lot of blood in a motorcycle crash on Gladstone Rd in Rockhampton in October last year.
Since then, Gavin has managed to find all of his heroes, but one.
Gavin's partner Jacki Sparkes said they were still searching for the man who was first on the scene.
"He took his t-shirt off and used it to stop the blood," she said.
The man was joined by four women, who have all been in contact with Gavin and his family.
Jacki said they got a couple of clues from a text to the editor published in The Morning Bulletin on November 7.
The text, sent in by TK from Blackwater, said the man's name was Adam.
It said Adam gave his mobile phone to Gavin at the time of the accident so he could call his family.
The text also congratulated Adam on becoming a dad for the first time with his wife Chantel, in Bundaberg.
It read: "life is full of miracles".
Gavin said he wanted to take the five people out for dinner.
"I want to say thank you to my angels," he said.
Gavin, who is now back in his own home, said he had recently been assessed for a prosthetic leg.
"It just depends on my arm," he said.
"It hasn't healed properly and the doctor says I need strength in both arms before I get it."
Gavin said he would know by the end of the month whether he needs a bone graft on his arm, which will delay the fitting of his new leg.
