The offer closed on Waterhouse Cup runners

GAI Waterhouse will not have a runner in this year's Melbourne Cup after The Offer was withdrawn from Tuesday's race.

Waterhouse won her first Melbourne Cup with Fiorente last year and The Offer had been the early favourite for this year's edition after winning the Sydney Cup.

But Racing Victoria stewards confirmed yesterday The Offer had been been pulled out.

The Mike Moroney-trained Araldo is now No.23 in the order of entry for the 24-horse field and will not have to run in Saturday's Lexus Stakes.

Meanwhile, British raider My Ambivalent is back on course to take part in the Cup after being cleared by Racing Victoria vets Brian Stewart and Grace Forbes.

The mare, trained by Englishman Roger Varian, was forced out of the Caulfield Cup after she suffered a stone bruise. She will have to go through another vet check tomorrow before getting a final clearance.
