Nude run cops return to elite squad

FIVE elite Queensland police officers involved in a drunken nude run will be allowed to return to their posts in the Special Emergency Response Team.

The officers have been unsure of their future since the bucks' party high jinks in September, last year.

Queensland Police Union president Ian Leavers this morning confirmed the officers would return to the team after undergoing performance testing.

"They are glad that the saga is over," Mr Leavers said. "They look forward to getting back to doing what they were trained to do."

The officers were eligible to return to operational duty last month, but it remained uncertain whether they would be allowed to rejoin to the elite squad.
