Next land ballot to be held

AFTER the official opening of the new Grantham estate, a second land ballot is due to be held in January 2012.

The first land swap ballot saw 70 families participate, with 55 properties settling to this point.

Urbis director of property economics, Malcolm Aikman said, similar to the first ballot, residents will be able to swap their flood prone land for equivalent size blocks of 1000sq m, 2000sq m, 4000sq m or 10,000sq m.

They will also have the ability to upgrade to a larger block or downgrade to a smaller one.

The master planned community will also include parkland, bike paths and a children's playground with additional residential blocks to be released for sale to the wider community.

There is also a proposed site for a new school, sporting fields and showground.
