BEAUTY and The Geek's brainiacs have a new spring in their step thanks to their makeovers.
All of the geeks, including the eliminated contestants, got their long-awaited makeovers from stylist Donny Galella and in the case of Dylan and Shaun, their own beauties.
Tate's transformation so drastic that he landed an international modelling contract.
"I didn't expect that it was going to be as incredible as it was," host James Tobin told The Guide.
"The ultimate end result is that these guys walk away from this show feeling better about themselves and feeling more confident to enter the world than when they entered the show."
The competition gets serious as the five remaining teams vie for a spot in the reality show's semi-finals this week.
This year's season filmed for one week in Las Vegas before returning to Sydney, where the geeks were asked to choose between their existing American beauty or a new Australian girl.
"It was a really great way to start the show," Tobin said.
"It was the ultimately juxtaposition: guys who had never been out before in party central."
This season has featured some of the most confronting challenges to date, including the geeks performing a striptease with the Thunder From Down Under and having to kiss complete strangers who turned out to be their Aussie beauties.
"With a show that's established you have to keep coming up with new ideas, pushing boundaries and doing things a little bit bigger," Tobin said.
"The guys know what they want to get out of the show when they come on.
"They are willing to step outside their comfort zones because they know what their end goal is. Even though it's confronting, they embrace it."
Tobin reckons it's the steamiest season of the show to date, with several romances heating up.
Lovebirds James and Chrystal were eliminated earlier this month, and sparks are now flying between American beauty Nicole and cat-loving engineering student Tate.
Beauty and The Geek Australia airs Thursdays at 8pm on Channel 7.
