New Allen’s lolly on its way

AUSTRALIA has decided - and now there's a new lolly in town.

After 35,000 public votes were casted, Allen's has decided to bring in a new flavour to its collection.

BlackBerry & Cream will join the iconic brand after Australians were asked to vote for their favourite flavour. The new flavour won in a landslide result against its competitors which included Apple & Cream and Yuzu & Cream.

64 per cent of those who took part in the nationwide vote chose BlackBerry & Cream.

Fans of the popular lollies will be able to purchase the new flavour in Allen's new Fruits & Cream Mix.

The mixed bag will feature the BlackBerry & Cream alongside Strawberries & Cream and Peaches & Cream.

Production of the new BlackBerry & Cream flavour will begin today at the company's factory in Bradford in Victoria.

Despite being rolled into one new mixed bag, customers will still be able to purchase single bags of the Peaches & Cream and Strawberries & Cream as well.

Nestlé General Manager - Confectionery, Martin Brown, said the search to find the new lolly flavour showcased the passion of lolly enthusiasts and attracted more entries than ever before.

"What better way to decide on a new Allen's lolly than with the help of the nation! The final addition to the new Allen's Fruits & Cream Mix has been chosen by our fans - the never-been-tasted, by the public, BlackBerry & Cream is sure to put smiles on faces when it arrives in store next month," he said.

"We can't wait for our lolly lovers to taste this latest flavour in the Allen's line-up. And no matter how you like to eat your Fruit & Cream - fruit or cream first, or all in one go - it's sure to be truly delicious."

Allen's Fruits & Cream Mix (170g) will be available exclusively at Woolworths from mid-February this year.

The annual Allen's vote comes after last year's search for a remixed classic.

Choc and cream won the battle, while in 2016 Peaches & Cream was so popular that its limited edition run was extended indefinitely.
