Bundy musician reaches global audience with new song
JUGGLING rugby league and music careers means Bundy boy Liam James Campbell is equally adept at throwing a silky pass to smoothly strumming his guitar.
The 29-year-old former Brisbane Broncos and Penrith Panthers player has pursued both careers with passion and recently recorded an original song for BalconyTV, a worldwide music company that acts as a platform for original artists.
Campbell's song Angel Without Wings sits fifth on the worldwide chart for this week.
"I wrote this song a few years ago when I had gotten to a bad point in a previous relationship," Campbell said.
"It expressed my desire to find someone who cared more about the small things in life and less about an image and material possessions."
Campbell won the Channel 9 NRL Footy Show Showstoppers competition in 2008.
"I did both from a young age but with rugby league there was a clear pathway," he said.
"With music it was a lot more difficult."
"It (NRL Footy Show) was a big boost in confidence and helped me get my name out there."
