Murder victim's farewell
A VICTIM of last Sunday’s tragic triple murder and suicide in Robina will be laid to rest later this afternoon.
Friends and family will say goodbye to Antony Paul Way in a funeral service at Somerville Chapel, Nerang at 5.30pm.
A Somerville Funerals spokeswoman said this was not a memorial service but a funeral for people close to Antony.
Earlier media reports stated that Mr Way’s brother was in Australia for a memorial service on the Gold Coast before accompanying his brother’s body back to New Zealand for a funeral.
The funerals of Tania Simpson and her five-year-old daughter Kyla Rogers were still being organised, but the details were expected to be confirmed today.
Friend and family have come out to express their grief over the tragic loss.
John, Julie and Ben Simpson released a statement on Friday night thanking people for their support after the loss of Tania Simpson and her daughter Kyla Rogers.
“We have been overwhelmed by the expressions of sorrow from friends and strangers alike who, like us, cannot comprehend the tragic and senseless events which took Tania and little Kyla from us,” the family said.
Tania Simpson and Antony Way were found stabbed to death in a Robina unit. Kyla and her father Paul Rogers were found gassed in a car near Casino after an extensive police search for the five-year-old.
