Almost half of Queensland stay-at-home mums are not confident to return to the workforce, according to a Get Qualified Australia study.
The nationwide study found as women age their confidence in their relevant skills decreases.
In fact, 76% of QLD mums felt their skills/qualifications were not up-to-date, and 45% were not confident to return to work.
Financial concerns was the main driver.
Get Qualified Australia spokeswoman Jasmina Dugalic said this result is unsurprising.
"Most Australians aren't aware that they could secure a qualification, often without the need for any study using their prior work experience," she said.
"Through RPL (recognition of prior learning) and skills recognition, women are able to save time and money on completing study in order to upskill and secure a qualification.
"This would certainly increase confidence for women continuing their career once they have kids."
