Motorcyclist in fight for life after CBD crash

A MOTORCYCLIST is fighting for life following an accident in Brisbane's CBD this morning.

Police are at the scene of the serious crash at the intersection of Herschel Street and North Quay.

Early information suggests that at about 5.40am, a motorbike and a car have collided in the outbound lanes of North Quay.

The rider of the motorcycle has sustained life-threatening injuries.

One lane of North Quay is closed to traffic, and motorists are urged to seek an alternate route as there will be heavy delays.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
