A mother critically injured after falling from a bridge after the Cairns Cup has passed away in hospital.

Beautician Claire Tucker, 36, suffered serious head and spinal injuries after being found under the pedestrian bridge at Clarkes Creek near the Stockland Shopping Centre on Saturday night.

She is believed to have been trying to walk to the shopping centre to meet with friends.

It is understood life support was switched off on Friday afternoon.

Support continues to pour in after her friends started a GoFundMe page to raise money for her and her five-year-old son.
