Model makes major move to Japan
LOWOOD girl, Montana Christie, is excited to go to Tokyo and pursue her dreams as model.
Tamblyn's Modelling Agency has offered her a two month contract in Japan, which could be extended to model in other areas of the country.
Montana is currently in Year 11 at Lowood State High School and works part time at a local bakery.
“For a 16-year-old, Montana sure has a strong work ethic, as she gets up at 6am each morning to care for our greyhounds.
Montana's mother, Leigh Christie, is a bit worried about her 16-year-old daughter being overseas alone.
“I am worried as any mother would be and I've decided to apply for a grant so I can go there and help her settle in.”
“Although all her flights and accommodation get deducted from what she earns over there, I am absolutely petrified of what could happen to her in a foreign country by herself,” she said.
Mrs Christie said the family found out two days ago the agency wants Montana there as soon as September 19.
“As a parent, I could not be more proud, what she has achieved in her short existence far outweighs what I have ever achieved and I really don't want to burden her with my concerns around this trip. I just want her to do her best whilst over in Japan.”
“She wishes to continue her study whilst in Japan to ensure she finishes Year 11, and hopes to study criminal law at university.”
Mrs Christie said she would need a laptop to do this and she is appealing to the community to help her fundraise.

MONTANA CHRISTIE DID a few shoots for a mobile phone company earlier in the year and is keen to start modelling for the overseas market.
